RSPB
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is a charitable organisation registered in England, Wales and Scotland. It was founded in 1889 by Emily Williamson as the Plumage League in Manchester. It was created to campaign against using great crested grebe, kittiwake skins, and feathers in fur clothing. The organisation later merged with the Fin, Fur and Feather Folk in Croydon, forming the Society for the Protection of Birds in London in 1891. The Society gained its Royal Charter in 1904, now known as the RSPB.
